On the road again…

I know, I know… it’s a bit cliche to title a post “On the road again…” as I get ready to talk about hitting the road next month. It’s also irresistable. But, before we get to that, let me give you a little window into what our summer has been like.

Family Camp

Since mid-May, we’ve been largely living at Life Action Camp. It’s been a great homebase for the summer. Some things we’ve appreciated about the break here:

• Connecting with other staff families that live near headquarters and seeing our kids develop friendships while they run around camp
• Enjoying slower pace of life with less driving, less rush, and more time to engage as a family
• Partnering with Shane in leading Week 3 of Family Camp
• Hosting Garrett’s family at Week 11 of Family Camp

Staff Training

Near the end of July, we welcomed returning and new team members to being staff training. For six weeks, these young adults have been rehearsing together as a band, working on lessons and skits for kids clubs, building relationships with each other, and being immersed in the Life Action mission and message

Would you pray for these wonderful people? They are going to be involved in one of the most demanding seasons they’ve yet encountered as they dive in to serve churches week after week. Pray that they would serve from a place a fulness and rest in God. Pray that this experience would shape them to reflect Christ more clearly. Pray for us, as a big part of our role is mentoring and discipling these young adults.

Seek Week

Last night, Life Action’s Seek Week kicked off. Every August, the entire Life Action staff comes together for a week of prayer, teaching, and refocusing before the Road Team head out for the year. It’s a crucial week for all our staff, but especially needful for our Road Teams. Would you pray for us as we seek God together, ask him to change and fill us, and prepare us for the months ahead on the road?

What’s Next?

We’re going to be hitting the road on September 4th. Our first trip will take us all the way down to the Tampa area in FL. We’ll be spending two weeks at Mission Hill Church, a thriving congregation situated in a strategic area for multi-national outreach.

From there, we’ll be up and down the East Coast until we break for the holidays right before Thanksgiving. We will be in seven different churches in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Virginia, and New York. As always, we’ll keep updating our schedule so you know where we’ll be.
